Ingredients
  

Rice
  • 1 cup long-grain rice such as basmati or jasmine
  • 2 cups water
Flavorings
  • 3 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
Herbs
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Method
 

Cooking the Rice
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the rice and water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  2. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes or until rice is tender and water is absorbed.
  3. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
Preparing the Flavorings
  1. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice, and cook for another minute.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and add it to the skillet with the garlic butter mixture.
  2. Add the chopped herbs, salt, and pepper, and toss everything together until well combined.
  3. Serve warm as a side dish or light main course.
