  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Maple syrup for serving

Method
 

  1. Slice the bread into generous pieces, about 1 inch thick.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggnog, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Arrange bread slices in a greased baking dish in a single layer and pour custard mixture over the top, ensuring each slice is coated. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Serve warm, drizzled with maple syrup.
